The Lock Up Self Storage - Bloomingdale

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the new Manager, Timothy O'Connell and from the first handshake Tim has been a fantastic person to know. His commitment to customer service is beyond the charts!!! He has not only remembered everything we discussed, but actually followed up and acted on it, which can be rare. I am totally satisfied with The Lock-Up Self Storage in Bloomingdale IL thanks to Tim and all his efforts and would not think twice about recommending this location to anyone looking for storage....THANKS TIM! Everything I needed to happen was not a problem. Checked in the Bloomingdale Location in Illinois. I was given a tour and explained all the things I needed to know from Tim the property manager. Tim was super helpful and accommodating. Great transaction!

The owner was very kind, informative and was very receptive to all questions and/or concerns. The unit is exactly what was detailed to me. It has new carpet and everything is in great order. They offer the convenience of a rental truck (if it is available) that was tremendously helpful and made moving our belongings less stressful. There are also carts to help move things from your car to your unit. The security is top notch and I feel at ease with my items there. You’re going to find that the prices for the units are pricier than other places but it’s well worth the amenities it has to offer. I’ve been a customer here since 2022, for one full year, and again from 2024 to now, another year. The indoor space is clean and well maintained and has AC. Unfortunately their customer service with store manager Tony has declined a lot. I am behind two payments on my unit rental, wanting to pay for one month and fees to catch up in a way that is more convenient to me, the customer. I’m being denied the possibility to pay for one month by both the local office and their HQ, plus threatened with a lien on my personal property. It’s time to take some court action and I’m pretty darn good in representing myself. I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again!

I am very relieved to finally move to a different storage facility in the area. We have had 3 units at Lock Up Self Storage in Bloomingdale, 10x15 in size, since at least 2018. Tony's demeanor with me has been like a "robot". Someone took a lawn chair I left against the door to the garage, as I was emptying a unit. Tony could care less. No sincere niceties on a human level, knowing we have spent tens of thousands on necessary storage for our daughter's things. Last year I stopped renting two of the units and today we turned in the keys to the third unit. We hired help to transfer to a unit with another company. We have endured probably 7 price increases on each of the units since 2018. I asked Tony and Phil Buckley to PLEASE give us a break. The last email I received from Phil said "we can't do that". Increases are generated every 9 months. So, I caution anyone that needs long term storage from renting here. The unit (10x15) that we closed today was going to cost us $318/mo. You can find better, we did. After all the business we gave them through the years, I would have hoped they would have a little humanity and give us a break for a bit. Corporate greed. Oh well...good bye.
